Core Networking Services
ITAC is coordinating with administrators and support staff who are currently working on the problem, and assessing the scope and impact.
An update will be issued once additional information has been collected.
High CPU utilization on a core router resulted in network services being disrupted or unavailable. Analysts are investigating to determine the cause. An interface on the router was disabled to minimize the impact, but is unclear at this time if it is a direct contributor to the incident. ITAC is closely monitoring the situation to minimize further service disruption.

Reports include service latency and service disconnects. Network analysts have opened a case with Cisco TAC and continue to investigate.
The estimated time to repair is unknown.
University Information Technology continues to work on a problem with the UH internet connection. You may experience slow internet service or intermittent disconnections throughout the day as technicians, Cisco System and our internet service providers work to resolve the issue.

We are providing an update to the intermittent network problems that the campus has been experiencing. Incremental progress was made throughout the day as different solutions were implemented. However, we continue to experience some internet connectivity issues. UH analysts, in consultation with vendors and contractors identified and are working to address a hardware failure on one of our critical network devices.
The intermittent network problems that the campus have been experiencing are resolved. All services are operating normally at this time.
